CSDN was established as a joint project between the China Data Center at the University of Michigan and the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University, with the support of the Ford Foundation Beijing Office.
The mission of CSDN is to promote sharing of micro data sets on China among researchers both inside and outside of China. By doing so, CSDN seeks to increase the quantity and quality of research on China, and to support the training of students interested in China.
